Michigan requires every vehicle registered and operated in Michigan to have automobile insurance. Three coverages are mandatory. Bodily Injury Liability coverage; Personal Injury Protection (PIP); and Property Protection, are all mandatory. All other coverages are optional. Many people try to save money on premiums by refusing optional coverages. The choice is yours but before you make a choice its best to know what the coverage is and look at your declaration page to know what it costs. Armed with that information you can make a fully informed decision on purchasing that coverage.

Towing and Rental Car coverage pays you if your vehicle becomes disabled. You should ask several questions about these coverages because each company is different and can limit or restrict the coverages in a number of ways.
